It tells the story of a long journey: one that makes the immigrant from leaving his country of origin until it reaches its goal, geographical and personal. There are many faces of this person coming from outside, leaving his country abroad for an uncertain and unknown. The reasons are different, too. The course, however, is very similar ...

Weaving threads between her native Colombia and adopted Canada, Lina Rodriguez (So Much Tenderness, National Competition FNC 2022) unfolds a sensitive autobiographical narrative in which her intimate immigration experience takes shape through the labyrinth of emotional memory. Through a fragmented structure that defies chronology, the director intertwines her memories with those of her mother, the two women linking their feelings to the upheavals of Colombian history. This experimentally-tinged documentary poem blurs timelines of a past resurfacing in fragments, like a dream—or a nightmare. A work of rare delicacy, between confession and political statement.

A chronicle of dramatic events capturing the fates of people living in a Slovak village just after World War II. Thirty years later, the main character Anna recalls a decision that fundamentally changed her life. During the period of incipient collectivization, she chose happiness and a difficult life with a poor man founding a cooperative in the village, although this significantly weakened her relationship with her own mother and at the same time interrupted a long-standing tradition in relation to the preservation of family property.
